Who has been Your Greatest Teacher? 🤔
I believe everyone we meet has something to teach us, regardless of their age, background, or experience.
My greatest teachers in recent years have been my twin boys, Jordi and Dylan, now 17.
What I admire most is their unshakable commitment to being true to themselves.
They don’t seek external validation,,,
Instead, they follow their inner compass.
They are not afraid to colour outside the lines and tackle challenges head-on, viewing them as stepping stones rather than roadblocks. 🌟
They are still in school, however, they are learning so much from their entrepreneurial pursuits.
Dylan is an artist through and through.
🎨 Under his brand Trilobite Customs, he crafts stunning chef’s knives.
He’s taught himself everything - knife design, production, marketing, customer service, and even building his own heat-treating oven. 🔥
For two years, he worked nights at a pizza shop to fund his passion, and now his knives are sought after worldwide. 🌍
What I admire most about Dylan is his growth mindset.
He is constantly pushes himself: trying new designs, exploring new materials, and making every piece a unique work of art.
Jordi, on the other hand, is entrepreneurial at heart.
💼 He’s the creative mind behind Trilobite Customs’ logo, honouring their grandfather, who was a geologist.
But Jordi’s true passion lies in custom watches and Seiko mods.⌚
When a key sales channel fell through, he didn’t quit.
Instead, he rebranded as Tidal Watch Co., now designing and creating bespoke watches for individuals and businesses.
Jordi has a natural talent for spotting trends and growth opportunities, as well as understanding what customers truly want.
He doesn’t need to study to be a great marketer, it's simply in his DNA.
Last weekend, watching them collaborate at the Canberra knife show was pure joy for me and my husband.
Dylan showcased his knives, and Jordi presented a stunning Damascus steel watch he crafted, which was snapped up by a famous knife maker. 🛠️
This moment reminded me of the power of working together and embracing different perspectives.
Our household has seen its fair share of “fireworks” conversations...
but it’s been a privilege to facilitate a safe space where both can express themselves, stay open to new ways of thinking, and guide them on their growth journeys.
As someone who loves helping people grow and move forward, seeing this unfold at home has been an experience I’ll cherish forever. 🙏
